Fundación Red Andalucía Emprende
Fundación Red Andalucía Emprende is a non-profit entity devoted to the promotion of the economic activity and the creation of employment in the Andalusian Community. The foundation has as general objective the creation of more and better companies and employment focusing on the promotion of entrepreneur culture and activities.
The foundation was set up by Agreement of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Andalusian Regional Government in 1999. Initially denominated as Fundación Andaluza de Escuela de Empresas (Andalusian Foundation of Business Schools), after successive phases its name is been changed to Fundación Red Andalucía Emprende.
Its main goal is to support the local and rural development of Andalucia, and it counts on the local town council's collaboration for their centres located in many different municipalities.
It is totally subsidised by the Andalusian Regional Government and it is leaded by a council whose executive chairman, is the General Secretary of Industrial and Energetic Development, and whose deputy chairman is the General Director of Social Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Regional Ministry of Andalusia.
Fundación Red Andalucía Emprende has currently entrusted the management of 153 Business-Schools, whose main target is the creation of employment and the promotion of entrepreneur culture, especially for young people in urban and rural areas and 11 CADE's (Business Development Support Center), located in each capital of province and in strategic locations in Andalusia. Both programmes represent the Territorial Network of Support to Entrepreneurs, covering 100% of andalusian territory.
The success of this programme managed by the Foundation, in terms of employment and economic development, has awaken the interest in other communities in Spain, and the European Union. It has also allowed the exportation of the business-school programme to centre America (El Salvador, Panama and Guatemala) and Morocco, where new business-schools are growing by means of co-operation programmes for the development, established by the Regional Ministry (Junta de Andalucía).
The Foundation supports many different collectives potentially entrepreneurs (university students, women, young unemployed, immigrants, people facing social exclusion) into many traditional and innovative sectors (knowledge base projects, multicultural projects, social activities,.) and facilitating all those innovative elements to ensure business success.
The Foundation, from the very beginning, has paid especial attention to the importance of the internationalisation. It has always wanted to strengthen collaborations with other countries in the E.U. through the integration of European nets for the development of common projects, and for the exchange of the experiences in the E.U. frame. In order to achieve this goal, Fundación Red Andalucía Emprende, within the international co-operation projects, has considered the participation in co-operation programmes subsidised by European funds, a priority objective.
